Care Desert Initiative
Our Care Desert initiative is an important step in increasing awareness of the often-overlooked issue of lack of access to healthcare services and resources – especially among the most vulnerable. Care Deserts are locations where health resources are insufficient to meet the healthcare needs of the population within the desert area – leading to increased costs and poor outcomes from delayed and denied healthcare. By identifying where Care Deserts exist across the United States, HSR.health is supporting efforts to address these concerns and achieve health equity.

This system goes further by analyzing the health impacts of plastic contamination—both current and future—on vulnerable communities.
