Washington, DC, USA, (April 18, 2025) – HSR.health, a pioneer in geospatial health risk prediction, has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch a pilot project testing the performance, process, and pricing of fine-tuning AWS’s Nova foundation model for advanced health risk prediction.

The pilot is designed to assess whether the Nova base model can support HSR.health’s innovative health applications - or if customized fine-tuning is required to meet the precision, bias reduction, and hallucination mitigation needed in clinical and public health settings.

The pilot is being conducted in close coordination with AWS’s technical teams to ensure broad relevance and provide feedback that could shape Nova’s evolution - particularly for a sensitive, high-impact domain like healthcare.

Key goals of the pilot include:

• Evaluating the accuracy, efficiency, and cost of fine-tuning the Nova Foundational Model for HSR.health’s health risk prediction models

• Determining whether fine-tuned Nova outperforms the base model in clinical, operational, and emergency response scenarios

• Informing AWS’s development of a Nova Health Foundation Model tailored to the unique demands of health AI

• Delivering real-world performance data to guide broader commercialization strategies and deployment pathways
