Commission on Nurse Reimbursement Calls on HSR.health CEO For Advisement
Published: Apr 5, 2023
Washington, DC, USA (April 5, 2023) – Ajay K. Gupta (CEO, HSR.health, Chair of the Board of Directors, Holy Cross Health) has been asked to join the newly formed Commission on Nurse Reimbursement, a nationwide effort to transform the healthcare system to address our growing nursing shortage crisis.
At this time, nurses’ impact on their patients’ health is not adequately measured within the current reimbursement model, limiting the ability to track the value of nursing care and propose improvements in overall care delivery. The Commission aims to evaluate and produce a practical nurse reimbursement model to adequately compensate nurses for the care they provide while being conscious of potential impacts to overall healthcare costs.
Speaking of his involvement, Gupta says “Holy Cross Health, as the rest of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, is not immune to the impact of the workforce crisis. We are looking at potential solutions that work for our health system and are extensible through the United States. I see this effort as synergistic with the goals of the Commission on Nurse Reimbursement.”
